Hotel Association of Nepal Promotes Nepal Hospitality Conclave – 2024

KATHMANDU, September 27, 2024 – Beanstalk Asia Nepal along with Water Communication, and Nepal Traveller hosted a two-day Nepal Hospitality Conclave that brought together key stakeholders from the tourism industry including policymakers, regulators, tourism entrepreneurs, hoteliers, investors, and experts to discuss challenges, opportunities, and strategies which will directly contribute to fostering the growth and building a resilient tourism industry. 

Supported by Hotel Association Nepal, this Hospitality Conclave was hosted in line with the Government of Nepal’s declaration of 2025 as a ‘Special Tourism Year’ and the ‘Nepal Tourism  Decade’.

To capture and embrace the spirit of this tourism decade, the Conclave featured over 20 national and international panelists speaking on important tourism topics to maximize Nepal’s tourism potential including marketing and promotion, destination development, investment, and policy reforms needed for tourism prosperity.  

This event was supported by the United States Agency for International Development Trade and Competitiveness and over a dozen national and multinational private firms.  In her remarks, USAID Nepal’s Deputy Mission Director, Ms. Karen Welch,  said, “USAID remains deeply committed to strengthening Nepal’s tourism sector through collaboration with the Government of Nepal, local communities, and businesses like yours. Our shared vision for Nepal is to maximize economic growth opportunities by expanding tourism offerings and boosting Nepal’s recognition as a top destination of choice for diverse market segments. In doing so, we are creating opportunities for communities across Nepal to prosper, ensuring that tourism’s benefits are inclusive and sustainable for future generations.”

During his remarks, Binayak Shah, HAN, President, reaffirmed HAN’s commitment to tourism and the importance of stakeholders working together.

The Hospitality Conclave 2024 marked the beginning of an important joint effort  between the GoN and private sector to craft an effective approach to further develop Nepal’s tourism sector in support of inclusive economic growth.
