How do you integrate user experience (UX) principles into the design process at Leapfrog Technology?
We focus on two major aspects: service and product. To excel in both, we must integrate UX principles. When I joined Leapfrog, there was no design team; I was the one who initiated its creation. Starting from scratch, we had numerous tasks, including building and training the design team. We also ensure that UX principles are integral to our design processes.
How do you ensure that design aligns with the brand identity and business objectives of Leapfrog?
We undertake many client-related projects, and in those cases, we design according to each project’s specific needs. However, when working on Leapfrog-related projects, we ensure that every aspect aligns with the Leapfrog brand identity. We also have a separate team dedicated to branding. From the initial phase, we focus not only on the look and feel but also on the language and co-user experience.
What makes Leapfrog’s design different from other companies?
We usually divide our work into three sections: people, users, and processes, and community. We consider these three aspects before designing, which helps us create unique solutions. Given the challenging hiring process at Leapfrog, we ensure that our designers are highly skilled. To achieve this, we provide extensive learning materials and training. Additionally, we follow a strict design process that ensures high standards in our work.

Being a Leapfrogger, are there any particular strategies unique to Leapfrog?
At Leapfrog, we follow the iron triangle project management method, which focuses on time, cost, and scope. First, we consider the importance of the given deadline. Next, we evaluate the features and tasks necessary for the job. Finally, we assess the cost required to complete the task.
What is your approach to risk management?
In risk management, we first identify potential upcoming risks. After identifying the risks, we de velop plans to address them. Then, we make critical decisions on how to handle each risk, whether to mitigate, escalate to senior management, or take other actions as needed.
What is the best part of being in this company?
The best part of Leapfrog, in my opinion, is its culture. The people here are very supportive and interactive, creating a pleasant atmosphere in the office. The staff is always engaged in meaningful discussions with each other. The work culture is also very flexible, whether dealing with international clients or local matters. We have the flexibility to select meeting times and schedules that work best for everyone.
How do you manage dealing with multiple people around the world?
I handle short-term projects, each involving at least one international client. Managing Nepali and international time zones was initially challenging. To address this, we established overlapping working hours, which sometimes meant staff working longer hours or adjusting to the international time zones. Fortunately, we haven’t faced any significant language barriers, making it easier to manage international clients.

The best thing I like about Leapfrog is its food. Also, the working hours are flexible, and we don’t have to stick to a strict schedule. If you want to work in the office, you can, and if you want to work from home for part of the day, you are free to do that as well.
How do you measure the effectiveness of the marketing strategies you bring to the table?
Most of our campaigns are based on social media, and the primary metrics we focus on are engagement and reach. Additionally, we measure the impact of an event based on the number of participants. Finally, we also evaluate the feedback we receive from each event.
Which is the most engaging social media platform for Leapfrog?
The most engaging social media platform for us is Instagram. Before the ban of TikTok, it used to be the most visited social media platform, but now Instagram holds that position. However, when it comes to the parents of Leapfroggers, Facebook is more popular. Overall, we have a larger audience on Instagram.

The hiring process at Leapfrog is a mix of fellowship and lateral hiring, both of which are very important. For fellowship, we target college students. We conduct online examinations based on problem-solving questions. Once a candidate passes the test, they move on to the interview stage. If they pass the interview, they are selected for the fellowship program. We usually have around 30 people in the fellowship, and we choose the final candidates based on their performance. For lateral hiring, we create vacancies and conduct two tests: one for coding evaluation and another for the interview.
What are some of the innovative solutions that your team has developed recently?
We are heavily focused on AI and primarily aim to attract new customers. Recently, we partnered with AWS and achieved the second-tier partnership among their three tiers. This partnership has helped boost our presence in the market as strong technical leaders.
